The world demands that a woman be young, slim, wrinkle-free, and seductive in order to be considered beautiful. This woman is not young, care-free, or alluring. But she is beautiful. .Angela is a lady of 100 years of age who lives in a small town in Calabria, Stefanaconi, Italy. The original photo by Raffaele Montepaone touched my heart. I received enthusiastic permission from him to interpret his art-form, photography, into my art-form, bronze sculpture. This sculpture is about the concept that the value and appeal of a woman is not dependent on the ideas that the world promotes.

No matter how far we may wander, Our Savior reassures us He is waiting patiently to rescue us and receive us back to His presence. This is often repeated throughout scripture.

We learn about the sisters, Mary and Martha, in the New Testament. Martha, encumbered about with care, was busy. Her attention is down, earthward, her arms are full of chores that must be done, her offerings of love. Mary sat at the feet of the Savior and was taught by Him. The book she holds represents our personal communication with Father in Heaven. We are told she chose the better part. Every woman is both Mary and Martha. Competing concerns give us the opportunity to make daily choices. If we neglect either part of ourselves, the spiritual or the physical, we are incomplete and unhappy. Although one is ‘the better part’, both qualities are necessary and praiseworthy. Tied together with flowing skirts, the two figures form a graceful, single whole. Every day we can be mindful of the balance we seek.
An old Chinese Proverb says, "You cannot keep a bird from flying over your head, but you can stop it from building a nest in your hair."
The story of Christ calming the great storm is found in Mark 4:35-41, (also Matthew 8:23-27, and Psalms 107:25-31). As His followers slept, a great tempest arose, causing great fear for their safety. To weather our own storms that frighten and threaten us, turn to the Savior, Jesus Christ, for peace. [13” x 6 ¾” ]
My imagination has always been attracted to women carrying things. As we observe the world, we see women, at all times and in all places, carrying things — physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually. In this piece, I show Eve choosing to shoulder the requirements and challenges of mortality; certainly, the baby representing all mankind, but also the burdens and busyness of daily cares. Truman Madsen said, “Eve, the heroine who led the way into this obstacle course of mortality. . . did not leave the garden for trivial selfish gratifications, but to open the way for the birth and rebirth of the whole human family.” Because Eve found her purpose, her passion, and her potential, her gift of life is a burden and a joy for all of us.

Created at the invitation of an exhibit, "Fantasy, Folklore and Myth." 14 x 21" fired clay. the ancient pagan idea of ages of woman: maiden, matron, and crone. I added the phases of the moon to enhance the idea of the changes of life that women experience. The background is the Tree of Life, for Woman is the source of life. It broke but I fired it anyway, and mounted it on a board, faux finished it to resemble bronze, and highlighted the broken edges with gold. Because of the break the concept changed and became, “Message of Mortality.”
I had been invited to submit a sculpture themed myth and folklore. At the suggestion of my son, "You should do a wild boar!" Me: "Why a wild boar?" Him: "Because that is what the word Everett means in the old pagan languages! Fearless, wild spirit, provider, loyal guardian, courage, strength, protector!" So I did!
I once was lost, but now am found. (Amazing Grace, American hymn 1772) Every sheep is beloved to the Good Shepherd, and you and I are symbolically the sheep. No matter how a lamb strays, be it by chance or by choice, we are persistently and patiently sought after until we are safely returned home.

Levi Savage spent the last 40 years of his remarkable life living and farming in Toquerville, Utah.
Levi Savage was a member of the Mormon Battalion.
Levi Savage was part of the fated Willie Handcart Company of Mormon pioneers.
As a young man, Levi Savage was sent to Siam to serve a mission teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.
This bronze monument was commissioned to honor the life of eminent pioneer settler, Levi Savage. It includes a portrait bust (18 x 24") and four historical reliefs (14" x 32"), one on each side of the four sides of the monument: 1) his Mission to Siam, 2) Willie Handcart Company, 3) the Mormon Battalion, and 4) his farm in Toquerville, Utah.
We have been given the task to find the one who has wandered to bring him back to the fold; or we are the one who has wandered away and is lost. But we are all of eternal value to a loving Father. A humble depiction that we are all just walking each other home.

We are familiar with the poignant words of the hymn, "Come Thou Font of Every Blessing." Although we are the person who wanders far, we yearn to return to the God we love. "Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it. Prone to leave the God I love. Here's my heart, oh, take and seal it, seal it for thy courts above."

“I had a mother who read to me” is from a familiar poem, THE READING MOTHER by Strickland Gillilan. My mother would not let us, her children, declare that we were bored. “You cannot be bored! Only boring people are bored! You could live a hundred lifetimes and never do the same thing twice. There is more here in this Earth to learn about and enjoy than you ever could.” This sculpture is for the miracle of the creation of the earth and all its miracles, and my mother’s teachings. Sitting on top of a world made of unlimited wonders, a boy and a girl sit back to back, engrossed in their study. Through learning, the potential for all children is infinite.
Relief sculpture of Christ on the cross. Understandably, any depiction of the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ, Lord and Redeemer, is inherently violent. In this piece however, the attention is not on the clenching suffering and blood of that single greatest act of sacrifice. Here we see that the very heart of His work, the gift of Atonement, is love. I was very touched by the lack of violence in the original work of late Renaissance artist, Giambologna. After Giambologna, 1573.
A cowboy tending the fire, stirring the stew and watching over the biscuits; you can almost smell delicious bacon on the crisp air. Sitting around the campfire, we listen to the old-timers tell their stories, and see the young ones dream. We love being in the outdoors and eating. This sculpture is to remind us of our cowboy heritage.
This was commissioned to celebrate the love of family for their matriarch, who loved angels. She has since passed away.
This sculpture piece is a waving flag hanging down from a pole. The flagpole is attached at the right and extends across the top of the piece and extends beyond the picture plane on the left and ends in a finial. A life-size bird, approximately 5½” x 2½”, has alit on the pole near the finial on the left, a symbolic of liberty. The last four words from the Pledge of Allegiance are inscribed at the top and bottom: “With Liberty” at the top, “and Justice for All” at the bottom.
6.5' bronze monument of a male firefighter holding a sandbag. This is a commemoration of the firemen who rescued many homes in danger from the Virgin River floods of 2005.

Bas relief sculpture inspired by Lehi's Dream. Lehi and Sariah beckon us to join them at the Tree of Life, We see those holding to the iron rod, some who are lost in the mists of darkness, the river of filthy water and the great and spacious buildings of history that have no foundation.
Collaborative oversize monument with L'Deane Trueblood. Together with Saint Francis, Saint Clare founded the Poor Clares, a contemplative religious community for women that emphasized a life of simplicity, humility, and service to God. The Poor Clares still exist today, often in hospital service. The story depicted is the miracle of Saint Clare providing loaves of bread to visitors when no wheat was available. .
